Wordle (http://www.wordle.net/) is a great tool that is really easy to use and can be a great tool to use in the classroom. You type words into the space and the more frequent times you write a word the larger it will appear. Wordle can allow learners to creative with the designs and colours and simple for them to use to display their ideas. You can incorporate this in the classroom as a brainstorming activity of a focus topic that the students will be exploring.
I agree with your point about using wordle as a brainstorming tool at the start of a unit or lesson. The colourful, multidirectional design would provide an aesthetically interesting display of information. However, I don't really see myself using wordle for much more than a brainstorming tool.
ReplyDeleteI agree, even though this is a great tool I only see myself using it as a brainstorming activity. I would be interested in ideas on how a learning manager could incorpoate wordle into the classroom apart from a brainstorming activity. Anyone have some ideas?
